Humble Treasures Turned 1!

Letter from Executive Director

It is with great joy I am able to announce and celebrate that Humble Treasures has made it to our 1st year of service and success. It’s incredible to think that this organization all started in my dining room from just an idea and willingness to help people, and today we have distributed 2,000 articles of clothing, served 402 individuals and partnered with 8 Community Organizations in the Metro-Atlanta area. We recognize that clothing is a very basic need, yet affordable clothing is a challenge for those that are under-resourced. Our goal is to provide appropriate interview attire, school clothes, and seasonal clothing; which are vital for success and personal dignity, and with your help we have been able to do just that.

I want to thank our donors, volunteers, community partners, and most importantly all the individuals we have served throughout the year. Because of you, Humble Treasures has grown into the awesome community resource that is has become today.

As we move into our 2nd year my hope is that we will serve more individuals via our Treasure Market and introduce new services that will only continue to add to the needs of our community.

Thank you for your commitment and support. I look forward to new partnerships, continued meaningful impact, and all the great things that year two has to offer.

What's Next for Year 2?

  • Continue to provide the Treasure Market “Pop-up Shop” experience on a monthly basis to Community Partner Organizations who primarily serve women & girls.

 

  • In response to the expressed needs of those we’ve served we plan to launch a Girls Mentoring Program in October 2016. We will be providing a group mentorship program to girls ages 10-17 to help them achieve personal success through positive relationships, life skills, and community service. More details, coming soon.

“More Than Just an Outfit” Fashion Show Brunch & Fundraiser

Saturday Nov 5th 11am-2pm, Dunbar Rec. Center, Atlanta, GA. 

Join us as we showcase some of our donated clothing and community partners over brunch to raise funds for our organization. More details coming soon.
